![]() The two most important parts that you want to be stainless steel are either the blades if it’s a centrifugal juicer or the rotating auger on a masticating juicer which is the spinning gear that juices the fruit and veg.īonus points if the machine is totally stainless steel but those tend to be harder to find, unless of course you’re reading this article in which case I’ve already found you some below!īut my rule is if it touches the food you want it to be stainless steel, unless it’s a clear plastic in which case there often isn’t a way around it, you just need to make sure it’s BPA free. Citrus PressesĪ citrus press is something you would use specifically to make orange juice, or any other citrus fruit juice, I’ve got my favorite stainless steel model below so if that’s what you’re after, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Masticating juicers are great because they have a really high yield of juice from the fruit you put in, and the slow speed means the juice doesn’t heat up so no enzymes or nutrients get lost. ![]() Masticating juicers work by using a bigger rotating gear that squeezes the juice out by force, they’re often called slow juicers because the gear spins at such a slow speed compared to the a centrifugal juicer. ![]() They can handle pretty much all fruit and veg but if you have a lot of leafy greens you might need to put them through twice. CentrifugalĬentrifugal juicers work similar to a blender, they have a high-speed spinning blade at the bottom which shreds up what you put in it allowing the juice to pour out one way and the pulp gets thrown out another way separating the two and leaving you with delicious juice.Ĭentrifugal juicers are much faster than their masticating counterparts but as a result tend to be more noisy. These are the two main types of juicer (though you also get citrus presses which I’ll mention) so it’s important to know which one you need. Overall, a great metal masticating juicer that won’t break the bank. You can also adjust the settings to control how wet the pulp is when it comes out, useful if you’re making orange juice and like to have a bit of pulp in otherwise set it to as dry as possible and go to town. ![]() I just liked the powerful motor and that it’s metal in all the right places. I believe this is actually a meat grinder that also juices but to me it’s a juicer that can also grind meat, I don’t personally but if that’s your thing you can do it! It’s surprisingly hard to find an all stainless steel juicer that’s under $1000, so I found this which is just as good, it’s got a stainless steel body and the auger in it is aluminium which is still plenty strong enough to make short work of anything you could want to juice. ![]()
